Peruvian cement producer Unión Andina de Cementos (UNACEM) saw its revenues advance by 16.2 per cent YoY in the 4Q20, driven by a 14.5 per cent increase in dispatches in Peru with improved average prices as well higher cement and ready-mix deliveries in Ecuador. Unacem buys Cementos La Unión in Chile for US$23m

Peru-based Unión Andina de Cementos (Unacem) has signed a contract with Cementos La Unión and Aridos Jativa, and the Chile’s Inversiones Mel 20 Ltda for the purchase of the full stake of shares of Cementos La Unión in Chile and 100 per cent of the social rights of Inversiones Mel 20. Unacem seeks loans of up to US$490m

Union Andina de Cementos SAA (UNACEM) plans to start talks with banks for up to US$490m in loans to refinance existing US$-denominated debt and other corporate purposes. Peru: Unacem invests in power projects

Unacem will invest in two separate power generation projects in 2016. Through Compania Electrica El Platanal it will invest in Carpapata III in its plant in Condorcocha in Junin. It will also invest US$60m (EUR 53.18m) in a hydroelectric plant in Maranon that is due to begin operations in 2016.

Union Andina de Cementos (Unacem) – which comprises the recently merged Cementos LIma and Cementos Andino –  reported a net profit to PEN70.3m (US$27m) compared with PEN42m in the same quarter in the previous year boosted by strong sales.
